An audience with Viv Albertine

Greetings from Gateshead where I had an fascinating time last night in conversation with musician and author Viv Albertine about her excellent new book To Throw Away Unopened which has recently been shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards of which I was a Judge. In an hour we managed to slot in a conversation about life, death and everything in between and Viv shared many hilarious and heartbreaking anecdotes. I was lucky enough to interview Viv twice this year, including in front of an audience of 1000+ at the Green Man Festival in August where she was equally entertaining.

I am now en route to visit the Angel of the North sculpture before heading home…
